Maine Families is seeking dedicated, compassionate individuals to join as Certified Family Visitors. This is a deeply rewarding role where you will make a tangible, positive difference in the lives of families right in your community.

About Maine Families Home Visiting
Maine Families is a statewide home-visiting program offered to all families who are expecting a baby or have a new baby at home, at no cost to them. Built on the belief that parents are their child's first and most important teacher, we partner with families to build on their strengths and empower them with the knowledge and confidence they need to raise healthy, safe, and thriving children.

The Role: Certified Family Visitor
As a Family Visitor, you will establish trusting, supportive relationships with new and expectant families. You will use an evidence-based model (Parents as Teachers) to provide personalized, strength-based support and education, all within the comfort and convenience of the family's home or a mutually agreed-upon location.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Provide Personalized Support: Conduct regular, scheduled home visits to share information, offer encouragement, and connect with families around the topics that matter most to them, such as:
    • Healthy pregnancy and self-care
    • Infant and child health and nutrition
    • Child development, with a focus on age-appropriate activities and milestones
    • Home and child safety
    • Positive parent-child interaction and attachment
  • Empower Families: Build on family strengths and help caregivers set and achieve their own goals for their child and family's well-being and stability.
  • Connect to Resources: Screen children for developmental milestones and connect families with valuable community resources.
  • Maintain Records: Complete and maintain accurate, confidential documentation and case files in a timely manner.
  • Professional Growth: Actively participate in ongoing professional development, including required training, team meetings, and reflective supervision.

If you are ready to be a trusted partner for new parents and make a lasting impact, we encourage you to apply!
